[edit] Rules for RSS 3.0 Development

(rescued from the yahoo mailing list)

Bowing to the overwhelming public enthusiasm for another RSS soap opera mailing list, rss3@yahoogroups.com is now open for business.

The rules for participation in RSS-3 development are as follows:

1) Don't post the spec(s). Anyone who posts a spec or user guide claiming to be for RSS3 or a variant has created an RSS-3 'fork'. The extensibility rules for 'forking' RSS-3 at this time are exactly as follows:

a) the poster being kicked from the current list (RSS3 is a conspiracy; we can't post the spec) b) the creation of a new list, whose name must begin with the string 'rss3-' and whose posting rules must be a superset of the rss3 rules. Additional rules may be added. A new forking policy must be established, along with a naming committee. c) the posted spec or user guide becomes obsolete.

2) No swearing.

3) Discussion of issues such as naming and extensions to the RSS3 participation rules are welcome. End users are not welcome here.
